You’re probably asking why I did this funky styled shoot in the middle of the country in Illinois? Well, the Midwest needs a little spice every once and awhile so I decided to partner with River Valley Floral Design and Oak Hill Farm to bring a little whimsical to the Midwest wedding industry.
As a Midwesty, born and raised, I know we can get a little stuck in our ways. The dress, the church, the food and even the flowers. We play it safe here. Nothing wrong with safe but a little spice or variety sometimes it kinda nice. I wanted my clients to see there are other ways to display beauty on the wedding day by wearing a different colored dress, upping florals for decor, renting custom decor so your not stuck with it after and utilizing an outside space to your advantage. The natural beauty that Oak Hill has to offer is amazing. The variety of buildings, plants and animals on their property makes for a unique wedding experience. I highly recommend taking a tour if you haven’t been out there. The sunflower field, horses and mobile camper are a few of my favorites.
Lastly, check out the amazing vendors I had the opportunity to work with. They did such amazing job helping put this together and making it a successful day.
