Being a photographer is an active job. We crawl, jump, dance and sprint all in the name of getting the perfect shot. But when you are a wedding photographer like myself, what you wear on the job will make or break the day. Finding the balance between classiness for a formal occasion and functionality is key. Here are some of my favorite pieces and products that make my work wardrobe timeless and have been thoroughly tested.

Outfits

You can’t go wrong with a black jumpsuit. The one I wear most frequently is from J.Crew from a few years ago, but this one from Everlane is just as great. Plus anyone who knows me understands my love for Everlane.

Flowy Dresses are a go-to in my book. Comfortable for every toasty summer wedding with just a touch of feminity that makes me feel like more than the hired help. I have this affordable dress from Old Navy that is always a winner. Here are also a few that I love from Everlane (shocker) and Outerknown.

Gear

When it comes to the work day, bringing the right gear is everything. I have to carry with me my cameras, extra batteries, flashes, and more. I’m a big fan of the fanny pack for all the little extras I need on the job. My Fjallraven one is my ultimate favorite. My other go-to gear is a camera harness. Depending on the shoot, I will either carry one or two camera bodies on me. And these leather harnesses are just the ticket for a quick camera swap.

Shoes

Sorel is my go-to for work wear sandals. Sturdy, stylish, and last forever. My two favorite styles are the Ella Sandal and the Cameron Floatfoam Slingback.

Makeup

Long days call for only the best quality makeup. I’ve been a BeautyCounter loyalist for years and it is the only brand I trust for my skin. Get 20% off your first order with CLEANFORALL20 and at checkout say your shopping with Natalie Finley.
