Elegant, catholic, party animals!
These are just a few words to describe the memorable moments of Derek and Hanna’s wedding day in Dubuque, Iowa. At first glance this wedding could seem like any other Iowa wedding. A big Catholic family, full of love, gathering for an elegant ceremony. But that is just the surface layer. Derek and Hanna seamlessly melded their love of classic and sophisticated with a lowkey Eastern Iowa party.
Church weddings are classic for a reason. The stained glass blazing with color. Archways made perfect for stealing away a moment to capture. And endless pews, and social distancing space, for every member of the family. The brick facade of this cathedral made the perfect backdrop for family photos with a drizzly overcast light that makes everybody looks fine! Not to mention dodging raindrops between first looks has to be the epitome of good vibes for a wedding day.
From a cathedral to a party bus, these two have a crew that knows how to have fun. We are talking like shotgun a Busch Light as a newly married couple. Groomsman dropping their drawers to reveal matching undies. Backflipping across the dance floor kind of fun.
Beyond all the partying, this couple just makes my heart melt. These are two of the most joy-filled people around. And photographing their best friends turned lovers story was such a treat!
PS: I took engagement pictures for Derek and Hanna. So you should take a look at those for their full love story. Precious!
