This summer, I had the opportunity to photograph a family wedding and it sure was one for the books! I met Emily’s family almost 6 years ago and it’s been such an honor to watch her and Tyler grow together as a couple. They are the most adventurous, fun and easy-going couple you will ever meet.
Tyler and Emily got hitched out at the Barn on Bunker Hill and it couldn’t have been a more perfect location for these two Iowans. From the decor to the corn it was Midwest heaven. Also, Tyler handmade the bowties out of feathers, can you say AMAZING! As for the bride, her dress was elegant, timeless, with lovely beading detail. It all came together beautifully.
As for the ceremony, it was outside with an indoor reception (thank you Midwest rain). Luckily we got through ALL the photos before the downpour, praise! They ate, did speeches, played the most ridiculous game with the bridal party (it was hilarious) and then we cut a rug!
A few of my favorite moments throughout the day were:
Tyler reading a letter from his mom. EXCUSE ME WHILE I CRY AGAIN!
Emily’s Dad giving her away
The groomsmen giving Tyler a “good job” booty smack
The letters and gift exchange. I could barely hold it together
The entire wedding party + parents praying for the couple during the ceremony
I have a few more but I’ll stop there. Check out the pictures below and it will feel like you’re there!
